League of Legends for mobile is a reality
Tencent and Riot Games are developing the mobile version of one of the most enjoyed games in the world, League of Legends.
Video games are becoming one of the most lucrative and interesting industries on the planet. What was once a redoubt in which we were the most fond of computers, is now a sector that moves billions and has titles for everyone.
One of the most growth in recent times is the MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena), games in which we have to compete for teams to defeat the opponent.
And if there is a title that leads in this field is League of Legends, better known as LOL. Until now this title could only be played on computers so many developers created similar versions for mobile phones.
League of Legends will reach smartphones
Now Reuters confirms that Tencent and Riot Games are developing a version of this game for mobile devices (we understand that at least for iOS and for Android). The reason that this version had not been created before, according to one of Reuter’s sources, is that Riot Games did not see it adequate, despite Tencent’s insistence.
Thus, Tencent developed a MOBA for China called Honor of Kings, which became a real success. In fact, this success was so huge that even the Chinese government had to intervene.
Given what was achieved, Tencent decided to launch an international version of that game and called it Arena of Valor, a title that is sure that many of you know.
It will take time to arrive
According to Reuters, this mobile version of League of Legends has been in development for more than a year but according to other sources, it is unlikely to be launched in 2019.
It is clear that although throughout its decade of life League of Legends has gone through several phases, it is still one of the titles with the future of the panorama, and a mobile version will only increase its success.
