Huawei folding mobile improves its processor and camera

The Huawei Mate X, the folding mobile of Huawei, has suffered several delays but in return, it will have a better processor and a better camera.

At the beginning of the year, Huawei and Samsung disputed being the first manufacturer to massively market a mobile phone with a folding screen. The Samsung Galaxy Fold and the Huawei Mate X were intended to be put up for sale in the first half of the year, but various reasons have delayed its launch.

Huawei seems to not want to have the problems of its competitor and has wanted to polish some aspects of its folding mobile. That has made it possible to update some of its components, not related to the design so that when it goes on sale in the second half of this 2019 it is not outdated with respect to its rivals.

It will have a new processor, not yet announced

The leaks speak of the Mate X will feature the new Kirin 990 processor, this year’s Huawei chip that has not yet been officially announced but is expected to be official shortly.

Among the novelties of this chip highlights the possibility, finally, of recording video in 4K at 60 fps , something that the Kirin 980 cannot do and that its rivals have long since.

The Huawei Mate 20 is also expected to use this processor, although we do not know if it will go on sale before or after the Mate X. It is expected to integrate the Balong 5000 modem that will give you 5G connectivity and use 7 nm architecture.

The Kirin 990 is expected to be 10% faster than its predecessor and spend 10% less energy.

Another of the changes of Mate X will be seen in the photographic section. At the time of the announcement, the mobile would have a configuration similar to the Mate 20 Pro but now it is the P30 Pro that will assign its main camera to the Mate X, with the RYYB pattern sensor instead of RGB.

However, it is still unclear when this mobile can be purchased, even if it is in the limited quantities expected to be sold.
