One of the great opportunities that the evolution of mobile devices has offered is the possibility that our phone or watch becomes our payment tool. In Android, for years banks have allowed us to access a digital copy of our card, but this is not the only option. And Google Pay will offer a new alternative.
Like Apple Pay, Google Pay has become a general mobile payment solution where we can have cards from various banks, as well as loyalty or boarding cards. And why not, a Google card.
Google follows the path of Apple and will have its own Google Pay card
According to Techcrunch , Google would be conducting tests with various US banks to create its own payment card, similar to Apple with the Apple Card. This card would have two modalities, and the objective of Google would be to make it as easy to create as creating an email.
This card would not only be virtual, but we would also have a physical card that would include our name, the contactless chip and the logo of our bank.
The Google card would not only be physical but would also be integrated into the Google Play application for Android and Wear OS, showing detailed information about each of the payments, in addition to tools such as being able to block the card from the same application, in addition to resetting the card number or making payments from the mobile through Bluetooth, becoming an alternative of payments between people such as Bizum.
As of today, this card would be in the internal testing phase, so it is possible that it will end up not reaching the market, or even remain exclusive to the United States for a time, habitual practice in the North American company.
